(Entertainment Weekly) -- Entertainment Weekly's daily guide to notable shows:

MIDNIGHT-1:30AM
MIDNIGHT MOVIES: FROM THE MARGIN TO THE MAINSTREAM
(Encore, TV-14) In the pre-VCR heyday of cult faves like Rocky Horror, audiences did pot instead of popcorn, and yelling at the screen made you cool, not crazy. John Waters and David Lynch are talking heads on this zippy doc, further proof that dingy little movies (and movie theaters) are a gift from heaven. -- Gregory Kirschling

Best of the rest

8-10PM
AMERICAN OUTLAWS
(UPN, TV-14-LV) Colin Farrell plays the "target of the biggest manhunt," which is not nearly as gay-porn as it sounds.

9-9:30PM
HOPE & FAITH
(ABC, TV-PG, DL) Dixie Carter and Hal Holbrook take their sexagenarian-couple act on the road and bond with Faith, which is not nearly as kinky-threesome-porn as it sounds. (R)

10-11PM
NUMB3RS
(CBS, TV-PG-LV) Charlie thinks an engineering student was murdered. Why? 'Cause life with a fat paycheck means you won't kill yourself?! Actually, that makes sense. (R)

10-11PM
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA
(Sci Fi Channel, TV-PG-VSL) Tigh adopts the Despot Doctrine: If you can't rule with a cool head, do it with an iron fist.
