Tonight's Best TVSaturday, July 30By Alynda Wheat Entertainment Weekly
(Entertainment Weekly) -- Entertainment Weekly's daily guide to notable shows: 9-11 PM BLOODSUCKERS (Sci Fi Channel, TV-14-DLSV) The year is 2210, and the galaxy is overrun with Nosferatus. A vampire-sanitation crew led by "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman's" Joe Lando and Jake Gyllenhaal-lite Dominic Zamprogna hunts the titular "fangheads," while a cult of sympathizers schemes against them. It's a movie about the virtues of loyalty, recklessness, and tantric vampire sex. And despite the use of "We're in their blind spot" as a reason for why our heroes' spaceship goes undetected, dialogue like "You can kiss my assertiveness," and brief appearances by two DeLuise brothers, it's a slicker-than-usual Sci Fi original. Credit Lando's conviction and Michael Ironside's cameo as a bloodsucker with half a brain. We like a cheesy cast. We love it when the Velveeta can actually act. -- Mandi Bierly EW Grade: B Best of the rest7 AM-1 PM MARATHON ALERT!: I WANNA BE A SOAP STAR (SOAPnet) If you sit through it all, they oughta give you a walk-on role. Why not? It's not like that many of you will watch. 1-11 PM MARATHON ALERT!: JOANNE KILBOURNE (Lifetime) Murder-mystery movies starring Wendy Crewson and Victor "the Vicar" Garber. 4-7 PM LIVE AND LET DIE (Spike TV, TV-PG) Brothers, heroin, and a white dude trying to be the hero. It's like "The Wire" before "The Wire" was "The Wire." 8-11 PM K-PAX (ABC, TV-PG-LV) Shhh. ABC is sleeping. 9:30-10 PM THE REN & STIMPY SHOW (Nicktoons) It's the rerun return of potty-humor pioneers, irritable Chihuahua Ren and knucklehead feline Stimpy. Tiptoe through the kitty litter! Learn why not to pee on electric fences! "South Park," you just got served. -- Nisha Gopalan 10-11:30 PM BILL MAHER: I'M SWISS (HBO) And I'm French. Oh, but you'll believe he's Swiss?!
