Entertainment Weekly's daily guide to notable shows:
MINI-SERIES PREMIERE: ELVIS (CBS) Sure, I can see Camryn Manheim as Gladys Presley and even Randy Quaid as the Colonel. But an Irish guy to play the King? Ann-Margret would not approve.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers ("Bend It Like Beckham") appears to have moves off the soccer field as well. Part 2 airs on Wednesday at 8 p.m
Best of the rest
OH! GIMME MORE 'ROSEANNE' MOTHER'S DAY MARATHON (Oxygen) Ten whole hours of D.J.'s bowl cut and dueling Beckys!
MOTHER'S DAY MARATHON (Animal Planet) What in the world is cuter than a rhino mom resting her baby between her horns? Don't forget to acknowledge the mammal-- horn or no horn -- who birthed you today.
THE SIMPSONS (Fox) Even after 350 shows, everything old is new again in two not-so-fresh episodes.
In the first, Homer plays a stage dad to Lisa, who faces off against "American Idol" Fantasia in the Li'l Starmaker competition. Episode 2 gives Homer yet another chance to convince the residents of Springfield that the world is ending with life imitating an apocalyptic movie.
Comic Book Guy says: ''I believe Homer pushed Lisa into a beauty contest in episode 9F02. And the end was near when the skeleton of an angel appeared in episode 186. Worst. Recycling. Ever.''
LIVING WITH WOLVES (Discovery Channel, TV-G) Nearly a decade after winning an Emmy for his "Wolves at Our Door" doc, animal researcher and filmmaker Jim Dutcher revisits the six years he and wife Jamie spent observing these bercanines that are often dismissed as bloodthirsty versions of man's best friend.
Viewers get an inside look at how Dutcher flew in sedated wolves from animal centers to inhabit a manufactured setting in Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains (where wolves haven't lived for 50 years) and even hand-delivered deer carcasses for food. Luckily, wolves in any habitat provide fascinating reality television: Scenes of them fighting for alpha-male status could rival any "Survivor" episode. -- Cherise Bathersfield
EW Grade: A-
AMERICAN DAD (Fox) For the non-moms, who probably feel left out today.
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC, TV-14) Patrick Dempsey reminds me of the child Mark Feuerstein and Jon Cryer could never have.
