EW Role Call: Ewan McGregorHe's probably either naked or singing. Or bothBy Gary Susman ![]() Ewan McGregor in "The Island." (Entertainment Weekly) -- Ewan McGregor may be most famous for his role in the "Star Wars" saga, but his performances as Obi-Wan Kenobi hardly show off the range of his talents. For one thing, the Jedi never gets to sing; for another, he doesn't get to display his naked body. Giving his pipes a workout and flashing his privates are things McGregor does in a lot of his movies, as the following gallery indicates. Sometimes, he even does both at once. Among mainstream moviegoers, the 34-year-old Scottish actor is known for showing off his vocal prowess in such movies as "Moulin Rouge" (2001) and "A Life Less Ordinary" (1997). Less well known, perhaps, is that he's one of the few A-list actors willing to do full-frontal nudity, as he has in the independent films "Trainspotting" (1996) and "Young Adam" (2003), among others. These days, McGregor moves back and forth comfortably between indie movies and mainstream, action-heavy fare like the "Star Wars" movies or "The Island" (above), his new sci-fi thriller. Well, maybe ''comfortably'' is the wrong word. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, McGregor complained that "Island" stunts that required him to spend days seated on a jet-propelled motorcycle were ''crushing on the old genitalia'' and practically ''rendered me infertile.'' Not that he displays the evidence in this PG-13-rated film. We'll know for sure if, in a future movie, he unveils the damaged goods -- or starts singing soprano. Click here Click Here
