MTV to reunite 'Breakfast Club'
NEW YORK (AP) -- Don't you forget about "The Breakfast Club."
At the 2005 MTV Movie Awards, to air June 9, the network plans to reunite the cast of the classic '80s movie, the cable channel said Friday.
Though Emilio Estevez, who played Andrew Clark, isn't confirmed, in attendance will be Molly Ringwald (Claire Standish), Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds), Anthony Michael Hall (Brian Johnson) and Judd Nelson (John Bender).
Yellowcard will perform the single "Don't You Forget About Me" from the 1985 film, directed by John Hughes.
This year's awards will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon. To be taped June 4 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, scheduled performers include Mariah Carey and Eminem.
BoDeans awarded $200,000
MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- The BoDeans are more than $200,000 richer.
A jury awarded the rock 'n' roll group damages Thursday from a longtime former manager, Mark McCraw, for allegations including breach of contract.
McCraw's relationship with the group became strained during contract negotiations in 1996 when the band's song "Closer to Free" gained popularity as the theme for the television show "Party of Five."
Band members testified during the trial that McCraw did not fulfill his duties as manager and threatened to tie up the band in court if they did not sign the contract.
The Milwaukee-based band, featuring Sam Llanas, Robert Griffin and Kurt Neumann, is releasing a new album in June called "Resolution."
Trebek in for long haul
NEW YORK (AP) -- Alex Trebek, come on down!
The "Jeopardy!" host, who will turn 65 this summer, isn't close to retiring -- and may have another game-show host as his career model.
"Who knows?" Trebek said in a recent interview with The Associated Press. "I may want to go on like Bob Barker into his late 70s and beyond."
Trebek is under contract for two more seasons at "Jeopardy!" This fall will be his 22nd season, and he wants to shoot for 25, at least. The 81-year-old Barker is getting ready for his 33rd season at his game show, "The Price Is Right."
"As long as I can do the job and do it at a level that satisfies me, I'd like to keep going," Trebek said.
Willie Nelson goes reggae
KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) -- Country music icon Willie Nelson is trying something a little different.
Nelson, 72, will release a long-awaited reggae album, "Countryman" in July. He shot video in Jamaica this month for a cover of Jimmy Cliff's reggae classic "The Harder They Come" and Johnny and June Carter Cash's country music classic "I'm a Worried Man."
Nelson began production on "Countryman" in 1995. The project was shelved when the country star switched labels and revived in 2004 after he signed on with Lost Highway Records.
