SANTA MARIA, California (CNN) -- Here are some key facts and figures on the Michael Jackson child molestation trial:

IMPORTANT DATES

  • January 31: Jury selection begins.
  • February 24: Jurors and alternates seated.
  • February 28, March 1: Opening statements.
  • March 1: Prosecution testimony begins.
  • May 4: Prosecution rests.
  • May 5: Defense testimony begins.
  • May 25: Defense rests/prosecution rebuttal begins.
  • May 27: Prosecution rebuttal ends/defense offers no rebuttal.
  • June 1: Jury gets instructions.
  • June 2, 3: Closing arguments (projected).
  • BY THE NUMBERS

  • Jury selection: Six days. The process stretched over more than three weeks because of schedule interruptions.
  • Testimony: 60 days (includes opening statements).
  • Prosecution case: 45 days (42 days in main case, three days rebuttal).
  • Defense case: 15 days (15 days in main case, no rebuttal).

  • JACKSON-RELATED INTERRUPTIONS

  • February 15: Questioning of potential jurors was postponed until February 22, after Jackson was briefly hospitalized with the flu.
  • March 10: Jackson showed up 90 minutes late for court, wearing his pajamas, after seeking treatment at a local hospital for what his representatives said was a back injury. Santa Barbara County Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville threatened to revoke his $3 million bail over the incident.
  • March 21: Court was delayed for 45 minutes, after Jackson showed up late, with a doctor in tow, again complaining of back trouble. After meeting with attorneys and the doctor behind closed doors, Melville gaveled court into session without threatening to revoke bail.
