WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A U.S. Army captain has been relieved of command at her request over an incident last week in which some reservists refused to drive a fuel convoy on a dangerous mission, Pentagon officials told CNN.

The officer was in overall command of the 343rd Quartermaster Company, an Army Reserve unit based in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Pentagon officials would not release the captain's name, citing an announcement expected Thursday in Iraq.

Last week, the Army announced it was investigating up to 19 members of a platoon from the 343rd Quartermaster Company after they refused to transport supplies from Tallil air base, near Nasiriya, to Taji, north of Baghdad.

The unit's members complained their fuel trucks lacked the armor needed for the dangerous mission and were in bad shape.

An Army official said Monday five of the soldiers who refused orders have been transferred to other units.

The U.S. military the refusal to carry out the mission last week was an isolated incident, and says no decision had been made on whether to discipline the reservists.
