GAZA CITY, Gaza (CNN) -- An Israeli helicopter fired two missiles at an area near the Palestinian Khan Yunis refugee camp, hitting two out of four terror cells, the Israel military said.

The Israelis said the Palestinian militants were preparing a rocket-propelled grenade launcher to attack Israelis.

The Israelis provided no information on possible injuries, but Palestinian medical sources said an elderly Palestinian was killed and four people were wounded in Saturday morning's incident.

Khan Yunis is near the Israeli settlement of Neve DeKalim, where a Palestinian mortar attack killed a woman on Friday, Israeli military sources said. Both settlements are in southern Gaza.

The Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Israelis said Palestinian militants use that part of Gaza daily to launch mortars and anti-tank missiles against Israelis.

The holiest day on the Jewish calendar -- Yom Kippur -- began at sundown Friday and ends at sundown Saturday.
