Ninth body found in UK factory

Early investigations indicate an industrial accident caused the blast.

LONDON, England (CNN) -- The death toll from an explosion that flattened a plastics factory in the Scottish city of Glasgow has risen to nine.

Emergency workers recovered a body from the rubble on Friday and police said it was unlikely that rescuers would find any more in the site.

The blast at the Stockline Plastics factory on Tuesday destroyed the building and injured 37 people -- at least 16 seriously.

Rescuers had been using sniffer dogs, heat and ultrasound detectors to check for any victims that might have been trapped in the rubble after knocking noises were heard coming from the rubble on Wednesday.

The cause of the blast is not known, although police have ruled out terrorism.

There was no fire, and atmospheric tests indicated there was no airborne chemical release.
