14 feared dead in boat capsize

NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- Fourteen people are feared dead after a boat carrying 27 people capsized in the Ganges River, Indian authorities say.
Three children are among those believed to have perished in the accident in Varanasi, part of the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi's Superintendant of Police Gyaneshwar Tiwari said Sunday.
The group was returning from a picnic on a small island when their rickety, old vessel turned over, Tiwari said.
Vanasi is 290 kilometers (180 miles) east of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh.
