(AP) -- Snow scattered across the Southern Plains on Saturday, while rain fell in the Deep South and Pacific Northwest.
In the nation's midsection, an Arctic front continued to filter a frigid air mass across the Central Plains and parts of the Midwest. Further south, snow showers dusted parts of Oklahoma and north Texas, with accumulations reaching up to 6 inches.
Snow also fell in parts of Arkansas and northern Louisiana.
Most of the Great Lakes had cold, dry conditions, but lake-effect snow fell along the eastern shores of lakes Ontario and Erie.
Cold air and overcast skies were reported in the Northeast, Tennessee Valley, mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley.
Rain showers doused eastern Tennessee, the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida.
In the West, scattered rain and mountain snow fell in the Pacific Northwest. The rest of the region was dry, but partly cloudy.
Saturday's temperatures around the Lower 48 states ranged from a morning low of minus 24 degrees at Gunnison, Colorado, to a midday high of 81 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
