4 dead in San Diego military plane crash
(CNN) -- A military plane crashed Wednesday night about a half-mile short of the runway as it attempted to land at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California, killing all four aboard, authorities said.
The Cessna Citation 560 crashed about 8:40 p.m. local time, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Bruce Nelson said. He said it was not clear what caused the crash.
A Miramar Air Station spokesman confirmed the crash, saying the plane was being flown for instrument training.
All four killed were members of the military.
