To travel from such a small country like Norway to the U.S. has left us with few airlines to choose from, all of them are too expensive. We used to like Iceland Air with their less crowded terminals and reasonable fares. But the last time we were not warned that they have cut off free soft drinks. It would be fine if we knew and were prepared. Sue Imnoy, Lillehammer, Norway

When I flew from London, Heathrow to Boston with British airways, it was a great traveling experience. The food was great, the staff were wonderful and it made me realize I would not want to fly with anyone else. Mark Morris, London, England

The implementation of the new vistor Visa program that includes in-transit passengers only hurts the U.S. airline industry. People will now take direct flights even if it means paying a bit more. Who wants to pay over a $100 for an application that may not even be approved. Air Canada says thanks for the business. Manuel Verge, Toronto, Canada

I am an American living overseas and even I am not keen to go through U.S. customs. Friends who are not Americans have either canceled travel plans or told horror stories about U.S. customs. It is not just President Goeorge W. Bussh who is trampling our image abroad. It is possible to protect the borders and preserve human dignity. Kevin Lyda, Caherlistrane, Ireland

With Concorde now retired, it will be a long time before I go back to Europe again. Nothing could bet the speed and excellent service. William Kent, Dallas, Texas

I've travelled the U.S. since 1972 and I've been to every state and every major city, by plane and by car. It is a beautiful country and it has a population of nice, helpful and friendly people. What a shame that 9-11 made the government so paranoid. Charles D. Bohne, Stuttgart, Germany

I have been travelling to Europe and Greece two to three times per month plus a couple of trips to South Africa. The best security is either in the U.S. or Britain. Europe, with the exception of Germany, seems quite blasť about it all. If Al Qaeda is going to assault the airlines it will have a catastrophic effect on economic life as we know it similar to the old hostage taking problems some 20-30 years ago. Sadly, most countries appear to have an ostrich in the sand -- cannot happen here -- approach. Peter Perley, Toronto, Canada

I travel nearly every week of the year and the vacation season -- along with large holidays or gambling events -- has a huge impact on travel. It would be great if there were some kind of security badge available to those who travel often and could speed us through airport security. Craig Foster, Henderson, Nevada

I claim to be a strict vegetarian -- I am, in fact, not -- when ordering my in-flight meals. That way, I always get fresh crispy vegetables and mouth-watering fruit for my meals while everyone else has rubbery chicken. So refreshing on a dehydrating flight. Rachel Kernion-LeFlore, Aberdeen, Scotland

It has been very difficult to find a web site for scheduling connecting flights in Europe. Angel Lazo, Miami, Florida

On one flight our specialist low fat meal included pasta with full fat cheese, crackers with full fat cheese, chocolate cake and chocolate mint. Where is their intelligence? Garry E Hunt, London, England
