(CNN) -- One of the hottest tickets at the '04 Sundance Film Festival had nothing to do with a movie premiere, but rather the unveiling of a video game.
Socialite Paris Hilton and actress Shannon Elizabeth (of "American Pie" fame) were among the celebrities who partied the night away while taking part in the promotion of Tom Clancy's "Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow."
Mark MacDonald, executive editor of Electronic Gaming Monthly says "Pandora Tomorrow," slated for release this spring, is "basically two games in one." There's a single player mode and an online version. Both games, according to MacDonald, feature "great graphics."
MacDonald says the online version of "Pandora Tomorrow" features a cat and mouse type scenario starring spies and mercenaries. One group attempts to reach a goal, and the other attempts to ace it before it does. MacDonald said he's a big fan of this action.
When playing "Pandora Tomorrow," MacDonald says gamers are presented with some interesting, if not "morally ambiguous choices." For instance, they might be in an elevator with another person when the call comes in from their commander to take that person out. Should they do it? Their decision during this moment of truth has consequences down the road.
Because the characters in this game have what MacDonald calls "a million moves," mastering the controls of "Pandora Tomorrow" can take some patience. If you're thinking about buying a copy, just make sure you have plenty of time on your hands so you can give it your best shot.
