Striker Henry to miss Easter games
LONDON, England -- France striker Thierry Henry will miss Arsenal's next two games with a hamstring injury, dealing the Premier League leaders a huge blow as they try to salvage their crumbling season.
Top scorer Henry picked up a hamstring injury in Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final 2-1 defeat by Chelsea.
He has been ruled out of Arsenal's home game with Liverpool on Friday and the trip to Newcastle on Sunday.
"I took Thierry off because he was injured," manager Arsene Wenger told the club's website over his decision to substitute Henry nine minutes from time at Highbury.
"He has a hamstring problem and wanted to come off.
"Thierry will be out over the weekend and for how long after that I don't know."
Arsenal, who until Saturday's FA Cup defeat against Manchester United had harboured dreams of a treble, now stand only to win the domestic title after their European ambitions were ended for another season by their English rivals.
Wenger's side, still unbeaten after 30 league games, have a four-point cushion over Chelsea with eight matches remaining.
Chelsea, who have played one game more than the leaders, face Middlesbrough at home on Saturday before completing their Easter programme away at Aston Villa on Monday.
