Goalkeeper Jones re-joins Wolves
LONDON, England (Reuters) -- Welsh goalkeeper Paul Jones has completed a $455,400-move from Southampton to Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Premier League clubs said on their Web sites.
Jones is rejoining his former club on a two-and-a-half year deal after a loan spell at Liverpool, whose manager Gerard Houllier said he would not stand in the Welshman's way now that Polish international Jerzy Dudek was fit again.
"I'm delighted to be back. You don't spend five years of your career at a club and then forget about it," said Jones.
He will link up for a third time with Wolves manager Dave Jones, who signed the 36-year-old for both Stockport County and Southampton.
Southampton midfielder Chris Marsden, meanwhile, is set to join Busan Icons of South Korea after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent on Wednesday.
• Aston Villa have agreed an undisclosed fee with Premier League rivals Newcastle United to sign Peruvian midfielder Nolberto Solano, Villa said on their Web site.
The 29-year-old international is travelling to Villa Park to discuss personal terms.
Solano joined Newcastle from Boca Juniors in 1998 for $4.57 million and has played over 200 games for the club.
• Charlton Athletic and Chelsea are holding further talks over the transfer of midfielder Scott Parker, Charlton said on their Web site.
"As it has become abundantly clear that Scott Parker wishes to leave Charlton, and following a further bid from Chelsea, Charlton now confirm that they are in negotiations with Chelsea with a view to completing the transfer of the England international midfielder," Charlton said in a statement.
Charlton rejected a $13.72 million-offer for the 23-year-old from Chelsea last week.
