Champions Lyon rise to second slot
PARIS, France (Reuters) -- Champions Olympique Lyon reclaimed second place from Paris SG with a comfortable 3-0 win over Bordeaux in a rearranged Ligue 1 match on Wednesday.
In difficult conditions at the end of a day of snow, Lyon had to wait until the 66th minute to open the scoring through Patrick Muller.
Two minutes later striker Peguy Lyindula made it two when he headed in a long-range free kick from Juninho and substitute Michael Essien sealed victory eight minutes from time.
Swiss defender Muller struck when he volleyed in the far corner after being set up by Sidney Govou and Juninho.
Lyon are now on 41 points, six adrift of leaders Monaco and two ahead of Paris St. Germain.
Bordeaux, who suffered a shock defeat at fourth division Bayonne in the French Cup second round last weekend, stay seventh on 32 points.
