English League Cup semi postponed
MIDDLESBROUGH, England -- Middlesbrough's League Cup semi-final second leg tie against Arsenal has been postponed because of bad weather.
The pitch is playable, but approaches to the stadium are in a dangerous condition because of ice and snow.
The decision to call off Wednesday's match was made after discussions between referee Dermot Gallaghar, the police, the local authority and the stadium safety committee.
It will now be played on Tuesday February 3.
Boro lead 1-0 from the first leg -- Arsenal's only defeat this season by English opposition.
Bolton overcame Aston Villa 5-4 on aggregate in the other semi-final on Tuesday.
