Serie A strugglers turn to Galeone
ROME, Jan 27 (Reuters) -- Serie A strugglers Ancona named Giovanni Galeone as their new coach on Tuesday.
Galeone, who previously coached Udinese, Perugia and Napoli in Serie A, replaced Nedo Sonetti, who was sacked on Monday following Ancona's 5-0 defeat by AC Milan on Sunday.
Ancona accumulated just four points in the 14 games Sonetti was in charge and remain bottom of the league with five points from 18 matches.
The club brought in strikers Mario Jardel and Corrado Grabbi and midfielder Dino Baggio during the January transfer window in an effort to turn their season around, but face an immediate return to Serie B.
Galeone is Ancona's fourth coach in seven months, while Sonetti is the sixth Serie A coach to be sacked this season.
