Revived Inter ease into cup semis
ROME, Italy (Reuters) -- Inter Milan cruised into the last four of the Italian Cup against Juventus with a 3-1 quarterfinal second leg victory over Udinese.
Dutch winger Andy van der Meyde put Inter ahead in the 17th minute and Obafemi Martins and Julio Cruz were also on target after Dino Fava had put Udinese on terms.
After winning their first leg 2-1 in Perugia, Juventus appeared content to go for a 0-0 draw until Fabrizio Miccoli burst upfield five minutes before halftime to score.
Miccoli -- a former Perugia player -- delivered a precisely angled shot before the closest defender could catch him to give Juve a 3-1 aggregate success.
Victory came for Inter on the day officials confirmed that Brazilian striker Adriano has returned to the club after a deal was struck with Parma who co-owned the player.
Inter were unrecognisable from the side that stuttered to a scoreless draw in the first leg in Udine last week.
Van der Meyde set them on their way, bending a free kick round Udinese keeper Olivier Renard from a wide position.
Striker Fava restored the balance just after the half hour, when he headed Alberto's cross into the net.
But six minutes after half-time Inter striker Martins ran on to a long pass to score with a low shot and 11 minutes later Julio Cruz sealed victory from the penalty spot after he had been fouled.
