Saha finally set for 'dream' move

Louis Saha
Saha: "I cannot wait for the challenge of proving myself at the biggest club in the world."

LONDON, England -- French striker Louis Saha has spoken of his delight after Fulham agreed to sell him to Manchester United.

The 25-year-old is set to complete a $18.69 million move to the English champions later this week following more than a week of negotiations between the clubs.

"This is a dream come true," said Saha, who has scored 15 goals this season.

"I thought this would never happen but I'm so pleased it has. Old Trafford is a lucky ground for me. It's where I started in the Premier League and scored two goals.

Fantastic place

"Fulham was a fantastic place but I cannot wait for the challenge of proving myself at the biggest club in the world."

Fulham coach Chris Coleman turned down United's first offer, prompting outspoken criticism from Saha.

"Chris told me that if the Manchester United offer had manifested in June, it would have been no problem, but he felt that because of Fulham's league position, I should have stayed," said Saha, who joined Fulham in 2000 and had also been linked with a move to west London rivals Chelsea.

"I knew, however, that this was my one and only chance. You don't get 5,000 chances in life and Manchester United would have found another player by June. They were always my priority and I never wanted to go to Chelsea."
