Sytchev header sinks nine-man Lens
PARIS, France -- Didier Drogba scored twice and Russian striker Dmitry Sytchev scored a last-gasp winner as Marseille gave new coach Jose Anigo a warm welcome with a 3-2 defeat of nine-man Lens.
Anigo, who last week replaced Alain Perrin at the helm of the club, saw Drogba head home after 10 minutes.
However, the lead was brief as Daniel Moreira, who figures highly on Marseille's wanted list, slotted home the equalizer three minutes later with a well-taken finish.
Drogba put Marseille back into the lead, three minutes into the second half, only for Lens midfielder Olivier Thomert to equalize in the 62nd minute.
With two minutes remaining Russian international Sytchev pounced onto a loose ball, following a Drogba free-kick, to give Marseille the much needed win.
Then, deep into injury time, Marseille goalkeeper Fabien Barthez made a save from Thomert as depleted Lens pressed for hard an equalizer.
Charles-Edouard Coridon was sent off in the 64th minute and and Patrick Barul departed in the final minute.
