Santander lose docked point appeal
MADRID, Spain (Reuters) -- Spain's Football Federation (RFEF) have upheld their decision to dock a point from Racing Santander for exceeding the limit of non-European Union players in a match in December.
The RFEF announced last month that Racing would lose the point they took from a goalless draw with Osasuna in December after a substitution blunder left them with four non-EU players on the field.
The decision sees Racing drop a place from 10th to 11th with 25 points from 19 matches.
The ruling was suspended pending an appeal from Racing, who wanted the point returned, and Osasuna, who wanted all three points awarded to them, but the RFEF have decided to stick with their original ruling.
