LONDON, England (CNN) -- European champions AC Milan reclaimed first place from Real Madrid on the latest CNN/World Soccer Top 10 club rankings.
Massimo Ambrosini's injury time strike gave the rossoneri a 2-1 win over Serie A leaders Roma in the first leg of their Italian Cup quarterfinal on Wednesday.
On Sunday Brazilian striker Kaka scored twice as Milan stayed in second place -- three points behind Roma -- with a 3-1 win over Reggina.
English champions Manchester United moved up one place to No. 2 despite having their eight-game winning streak ended by Newcastle, who claimed a goalless draw at Old Trafford.
But that was enough to keep United on top of the Premier League by one point from archrivals Arsenal.
Spanish champions Real Madrid slipped to third place after they slumped to a 1-0 Liga defeat against Real Sociedad, allowing Valencia to claim first place in the Spanish standings.
But Real at least reached the quarterfinals of the King's Cup, beating second division Eibar on Tuesday for a 3-1 aggregate win.
Italian champions Juventus stayed at No. 4, ahead of fifth-placed Boca Juniors, the Argentine and Intercontinental champions.
