Juve allow Barca to talk to Davids
BARCELONA, Spain -- Edgar Davids looks set to join Barcelona after Juventus gave the Spanish giants permission to discuss terms with the Dutch midfielder.
"Juventus have agreed that Barcelona can begin negotiations with Edgar Davids with a view to a possible loan deal until the end of the season or a transfer," Barcelona said on their Web site.
"If a loan deal is agreed both clubs will share the cost of the player's salary."
Davids, 30, has fallen out with the Italian giants after failing to renew his contract, which expires at the end of the season.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has travelled to Turin to begin talks, although Davids is currently reported to be in Surinam to attend a family funeral.
• Swedish defender Patrik Andersson has ended his spell at Barcelona, signing a one-year contract with Malmo, where he started his career.
The 32-year-old was left out of Barcelona's squad this season.
