Simone agrees six-month Nice deal

Story Tools

PARIS, France -- Former Italy striker Marco Simone has agreed to join Nice on a six-month contract.

The 35-year-old, who won four league titles with AC Milan before moving to France in 1997, has been without a club since he left Monaco in November 2002.

He has played 133 matches and scored 50 goals in the French First Division with both Paris St Germain and Monaco.

"I'm delighted to have a player of such quality in my team. We can only congratulate ourselves on his signing and we hope that he will boost the side," said Nice coach Gernot Rohr.
