Rennes reject Chelsea bid for Cech
PARIS, France -- French first division side Stade Rennes have rejected an offer from English side Chelsea for Czech goalkeeper Petr Cech.
"Stade Rennes have refused the transfer offer and today officially informed Chelsea that Petr Cech will stay in Rennes until the end of the season," Rennes said on their Web site.
The English Premier League side have spent more than $200 million since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took over the club last year.
On Monday, Italian giants Roma denied that their Romanian defender Christian Chivu would be moving to the London club.
