Rennes sign Swedish star Kallstrom
RENNES, France -- Swedish international midfielder Kim Kallstrom has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with French First Division Rennes.
The 21-year-old arrives from Swedish champions Djurgaarden in a deal reported to be in the region of two million euros.
Kallstrom, who has trained with Rennes for the past three weeks in France, could be in the lineup for Saturday's French Cup tie at Second Division Angers.
Kallstrom played for Stockholm-based Djurgaarden since 1998, achieving the Cup and league double in 2002, and winning the championship title last season, when he finished second top scorer with 14 goals.
The midfielder has 14 caps for his country, scoring one international goal.
