VIENNA, Austria (Reuters) -- Austria's four-times overall World Cup winner Hermann Maier plans to compete at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, according to media reports.
The 31-year-old former bricklayer fought back from a serious motorcycle injury in 2001 to win last year's super-G and overall World Cup titles.
"I will definitely compete for another three seasons, but I might then carry on beyond that," Austrian news agency APA quoted him as saying.
"I have now achieved everything. All my sporting goals have been met. Now it's all about having fun and motivating myself. That's the great thing."
Maier said his main objective was to compete at the Turin Olympics.
"Because of my injury I have only competed in the Olympics once. Participating a second time is my big goal. The Olympics are the biggest event for an athlete," he said.
