Seville to host new European event
PARIS, France -- The southern Spanish city of Seville will host a new event on the European PGA Tour circuit on April 15-18, it has been confirmed.
The one million euro tournament will be held at the Royal Seville Golf club, in the week following The Masters.
Opened in 1992, the par-72 course, designed by two-time Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal, has already been chosen to host the team World Cup from November 18-21.
It means that Spain will host back-to-back European Tour events with the Spanish Open being held from April 22-25.
"It is a great honour to have the best players of the European Tour come to Sevilla," said Real Golf Club chief executive Claudia Hernande.
