Daly is sidelined by hand injury
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Florida -- American John Daly has been forced to pull out of the Honda Classic which starts on Thursday after shutting his hand in a restaurant door.
The former British Open and U.S. PGA champion's agent told reporters on Monday that Daly was out with friends when the accident occurred. He said he needed stitches in a cut hand.
Daly, who won the Buick Invitational last month -- his first PGA Tour victory in almost nine years -- is also doubtful for next week's Bay Hill Invitational.
But the world number 64 expects to be fit for The Players Championship which starts on March 25.
