German Glock to test for Jordan
LONDON, England (Reuters) -- Jordan, the only Formula One team with no drivers signed so far for the 2004 season, will test young German Timo Glock on Tuesday.
Glock, 21, finished fifth in the Formula Three Euro Series last year, winning three races.
"Timo Glock is probably the most promising young driving talent in Germany at the moment and I'm delighted that we are able to offer him his first F1 test," said Eddie Jordan in a statement.
"He's come up through the junior categories quickly and with good results so I'm optimistic that he will be very significant in the future of German motorsport."
Belgian Bas Leinders is also testing for the Silverstone-based team this week, running on Wednesday at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.
The team is looking at several candidates for the vacant role of test driver. Germany's Nick Heidfeld, Britons Allan McNish and Ralph Firman and Dutch driver Jos Verstappen are in the frame for the main race seats.
Jordan have yet to say who will be testing for them on Thursday or Friday amid speculation that one of their race drivers, possibly Verstappen, could be announced before then to fill the slot.
