Jones set for indoor track return
RALEIGH, North Carolina (Reuters) -- Triple Olympic champion Marion Jones will return to racing for the first time since becoming a mother at New York City's Millrose Games on February 6.
"We are thrilled to announce that Marion Jones will be running in the women's 60-meter invitational," Skip Stolley, the indoor meeting's organizer, told Reuters.
The race will be Jones's first since September 2002 and her first race indoors in almost six years.
She did not compete last year while awaiting the birth, in June, of her son Tim with her boyfriend, 100-meter world record holder Tim Montgomery.
Jones will face a high-quality field with Americans Torri Edwards, Inger Miller, Angela Williams and Allyson Felix all down to run in the race at New York's Madison Square Garden.
Jones won a record five medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, including the 100 and 200 meters and the 4x400-meter relay. She has indicated she would like to try for multiple golds again in Athens but has not specified the events.
