Lemoine is given a six weeks ban

LONDON, England -- Stade Francais prop Pablo Lemoine has been banned for six weeks after being sent off in the European Cup Pool One match against the Gwent Dragons on Saturday.

Lemoine was red-carded by English referee Tony Spreadbury in the 53rd minute for head-butting Ben Breeze as his team crashed to a 20-12 defeat at Rodney Parade.

The six-week suspension rules the Uruguay international out of the remaining three European Cup group matches, against The Dragons, Ulster and Leicester Tigers.

A statement by the organizers said: "Lemoine, shown the red card by English referee Tony Spreadbury for striking an opponent in the face with his head, was suspended following a disciplinary hearing conducted by Match Commissioner John Owen of Wales."
