DOHA, Qatar -- Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman, who laid low world number one Andy Roddick in the second round, has lost his Qatar Open quarter-final.

Bjorkman failed to match Wednesday's display, bowing out 6-4 6-4 to world-ranked 24 Agustin Calleri of Argentina.

In another upset, fourth-seeded Sebastien Grosjean of France was beaten by Croatia's Ivan Ljubicic 6-3 5-7 6-4.

Earlier, Frenchman Nicolas Escude brushed aside South Korea's Lee Hyung-taik 6-4 6-2.

In Friday's semi-finals, Calleri will take on Escude while Ljubicic will meet seventh seed Tim Henman of Britain, who beat Sargis Sargsian of Armenia 6-3 6-1.
