Italian flyhalf Mazzariol injured
ROME, Italy -- Italian flyhalf Francesco Mazzariol will miss this season's Six Nations rugby union European championship after suffering a fractured left leg.
The 28-year-old, hurt during Gran Parma's clash with Treviso at the weekend, is expected to be out of action for at least three months.
Mazzariol's injury opens the door for New Zealand-born Rima Wakarua to stake his claim at flyhalf.
Italy open their Six Nations campaign against defending champions and World Cup winners England in Rome on February 15.
