Bracken to sit out one-day opener
MELBOURNE, Australia -- Fast bowler Nathan Bracken has been ruled out of Australia's opening one-day tri-series clash with India on Friday with a hip injury.
Bracken strained a muscle in his hip during the fourth Test against India, which ended on Tuesday.
Brad Williams was named as Bracken's replacement for the first four matches of the series, which also includes Zimbabwe.
"Obviously I am disappointed," said Bracken. "I am hopeful that the injury can heal quickly."
Bracken is the latest of Australia's main strike bowlers to suffer injury problems this season.
Glenn McGrath sat out the whole series against India, while Brett Lee and Jason Gillespie both missed part of the series.
• Zimbabwe slumped to a 119-defeat against Australia A in a day-night warmup match in Adelaide.
Marcus North scored 115 as Australia reached 327-6 from their 50 overs and then dismissed the tourists for 208 in the 44th over.
