Pettersen triumphs on greatest day
VIENNA, Austria (Reuters) -- Norway's Sigurd Pettersen won the Four Hills ski jumping title after claiming his third victory in the Austrian resort of Bischofshofen on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old student, who scored 1,066.6 points, missed the event record by just 11 points. Austria's Martin Hoellwarth was second and Slovenian Peter Zonta third.
"It is the greatest day of my life. I am completely exhausted, a bit ill and have no idea how I did it," Pettersen said.
Germany's Sven Hannawald, who won all four jumps in an unprecedented display in 2001-2, finished 22nd on Tuesday and 12th overall.
"I am completely depressed. If I had given my start number to the spectators they could have jumped further," he said.
