MEGEVE, France -- Alexandra Meissnitzer claimed her first World Cup victory in four years as she led an Austrian clean sweep of the podium positions in a super-G at Megeve, France.
The 1999 world champion in the super-G and giant slalom held off the challenge of Renate Goetschl by 0.21 seconds with Michaela Dorfmeister at 0.42 seconds.
'I feel emotional, it's a great day,' said the 30-year-old who has been blighted by bad luck.
Knee injuries sustained after her world championship double saw her needing two full seasons to recover full fitness.
Strong skiing on the top half of the course was the key to Meissnitzer's 12th World Cup victory as she had enough time in hand to survive a big mistake near the finish line.
"I had to ski faultlessly on the higher part of the slope to build up speed which is vital for the central part which is flatter," she said.
The Austrian one-two-three eclipsed the challenge of home skiers, with reigning World Cup super-G champion Carole Montillet edged into fourth place.
She still trails overall World Cup leader Anja Paerson of Sweden in the overall standings.
