Janica Kostelic set to miss season
ZAGREB, Croatia -- Skiing champion Janica Kostelic will miss the World Cup season, according to Croatian press reports.
The injury-plagued 21-year-old, who won her second overall World Cup title last season, is suffering from thyroid problems.
"I have no idea how long it will take but it seems obvious that I won't compete this season," Kostelic told the Jutarnji list newspaper.
"I only know I have to rest which is what I am doing," said Kostelic, who was visiting he Croatian teammates in Austria.
"It's funny, I watch the Croatian ski team practising, but I can only afford to walk on the snow."
