Prop White is doubtful for England
LONDON, England -- Leicester prop Julian White could be forced to miss England's Six Nations title defence after knee surgery.
The news is a blow to World Cup-winning coach Clive Woodward, as England begin their campaign against Italy in Rome on February 15 with Bath centre Mike Tindall already out with a serious ankle injury.
"Julian is a major concern with his knee injury, and he could be out for around seven to eight weeks," said Leicester rugby director Dean Richards.
Richards though, believes that England flanker Lewis Moody should be fit in time as he continues his recovery from a stress fracture to the foot.
"From a Leicester point of view, the injuries to our internationals are disappointing, but looking at it from an England perspective, everyone is obviously delighted that they have won the World Cup," he added.
