South African golfer Henning dies

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida (Reuters) -- South African Harold Henning, the winner of more than 50 golf tournaments, died on Thursday at the age of 69 after a lengthy illness, the PGA Tour has said.

Henning won the1965 World Cup with Gary Player before joining the PGA Tour in 1966, lifting the Texas Open Invitational that year and the Tallahassee Open in 1970.

He also won tournaments in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, Denmark and Switzerland before joining the Champions Tour (the Senior PGA tour) in 1984.

Henning is survived by his wife, Patricia, and three children, Hanley, Hayley and Harley.
