NEW YORK (CNN) -- Rap star Ja Rule and tap dancer Savion Glover were arrested in lower Manhattan Thursday morning for possession of marijuana and driving without licenses.
New York City police confirm, in separate incidents, Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, and Glover, were spotted by police driving recklessly.
Glover, star of the hit musical "Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk," and recently seen in commercials for V8 vegetable juice, was stopped after police saw him make three lane changes with out signaling. Police discovered a small amount of marijuana in his possession.
Ja Rule, who recently starred in the movie "The Fast and the Furious," was pulled over an hour later when police saw him suddenly cut across four lanes of traffic.
Both men were seen in Manhattan Criminal Court early Thursday. The possession charges were dropped against Ja Rule. He pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license and paid $550 in fines and court fees.
Glover was released on his own recognizance and will return to court on August 18.
