Ohio shooting suspect waives right to appear
Judge schedules another hearing next week
(CNN) -- Ohio shooting suspect Charles A. McCoy Jr. waived his right to appear at a preliminary Monday to hear charges read against him.
Attorneys representing McCoy, who was returned to Columbus from Las Vegas, Nevada, last weekend, told a judge he was waiving his right to be present.
McCoy was arrested without incident Wednesday in a Las Vegas sports bar on a warrant alleging that he fired shots at a house in December. McCoy is suspected in two dozen Ohio shootings, including the slaying of 62-year-old Gail Knisley.
Attorneys also filed a statement with the judge saying McCoy would exercise his constitutional right not to answer questions from investigators.
Another hearing was set for March 30.
