Several of the documents indicate service points the president earned during the time in question. Points are based on duty time, with a minimum number needed to fulfill an individual’s obligation.
This document shows that Bush accrued nine points of active duty, 32 points of inactive duty and 15 points for his Guard/Reserve membership for a total of 56 points for the period of May 27, 1972, through May 26, 1973. Members of the Air National Guard/Reserve are required to have 50 service points.
