BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Two almost simultaneous car bombs have exploded outside two Iraqi police stations, killing at least six people and injuring at least seven others, Iraqi police officials say.
At least six people died in a car bomb blast near Zuhour police station, close to Husseiniyah village north of Baghdad, on Monday, police Brig. Gen. Thamir Sadoon said.
A separate suicide blast near a police station in the western Baghdad district of Ameriyah wounded at least seven police officers, metropolitan Baghdad deputy chief of police Ahmed Kadom said.
Kadom added there were an undetermined number of fatalities. The bomber died in the blast.
Both explosions occurred within about 30 minutes of each other.
