Gunman kills 2 Israeli soldiers in West Bank
JERUSALEM (CNN) -- Two Israeli soldiers were killed early Tuesday at a roadblock near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, Israeli military sources said.
According to the sources, a Palestinian man -- with a rifle concealed in a mat -- approached the roadblock and opened fire from a distance of about 15 meters (49 feet). The gunman fled into Palestinian territory and is the subject of a search by Israeli soldiers.
