KUWAIT CITY (CNN) -- A Kuwaiti civil servant accused of killing a U.S. computer contractor and injuring another American was ordered held for two more weeks Wednesday at a court hearing.

Sami al-Mutairi, 25, has denied carrying out the January 21 shootings. He repeated at the hearing that he did not carry out the crimes.

Al-Mutairi has told the court that authorities forced a signed confession.

Al-Mutairi was bound over for another two weeks after prosecutors told a judge they needed more time to complete their investigation.

Formal charges have not been filed yet.

Al-Mutairi's attorney, Mohammed al-Mutairi, said his client looks better every time he has seen him. The lawyer told the judge two weeks ago that authorities had abused his client. Mutairi is allowed to meet with his attorney and his father twice a week for a half-hour.

Michael Rene Pouliot, 46, was killed, and David Caraway, 37, was wounded when they were ambushed on a road leading to Camp Doha in northern Kuwait. Both were working with the U.S. military.

Five other Kuwaiti citizens were arrested in connection with the attack.

Kuwaiti authorities said the six suspects led police to weapons and ammunition hidden in two houses and a mosque south of Kuwait City.

Police said one of the weapons was the gun used in the shooting.
