Superbikes champ Hislop mourned
LONDON, England -- Tributes have been paid to British Superbikes champion Steve Hislop who died in a helicopter crash in his native Scotland. The 41-year-old was flying the small aircraft alone near Hawick, southern Scotland, when the crash happened Wednesday. His former Yamaha team manager Rob McElnea told the BBC: "He was a flawed genius who loved riding a bike and was always totally committed to what he was doing. He was a perfectionist. "Motorcycling is a close-knit community and everybody has been really rocked by this news." Hislop was a two-time British Superbike champion having first won the title in 1995.
