DUBLIN, Republic of Ireland -- A man arrested in connection with the Omagh bombing is due to appear at Dublin's special criminal court on Wednesday.
Seamus Daly, 32, was arrested in Monaghan on Tuesday in connection with "investigations into the bombing or matters arising from it," the Garda, the Irish police, said.
Daly, from Co Monaghan, was detained at Carrickmacross Garda Station after a warrant was issued by the Special Criminal Court.
Twenty-nine people died and more than 200 were injured in the 1998 bomb attack on the Co Tyrone town in the bloodiest single atrocity in the 30 years of Northern Ireland's conflict, known as "the Troubles."
The only person jailed in connection with the bombing so far is Colm Murphy, who is serving a 14-year sentence for conspiracy to cause the bombing.
The blast has been blamed on dissident anti-British republicans who planted a huge bomb that went off in the middle of Omagh's shopping district at the height of the Saturday morning rush.
Relatives of victims of the bombing, frustrated by the slow pace of police investigations, have sought to bring those thought to be responsible to task by lodging civil suits against them.
